We’re Upgrading Our Debit Cards!
Priority Trust Credit Union is excited to announce that we’re upgrading your debit and ATM card experience to better meet your needs. These enhancements come with a few changes to your account, and we want to make sure you’re informed about what to expect.
Your new debit card will come with the following features:
- New Card Design: Your new debit card features a fresh, modern design showcasing our updated name. Rest assured, it still carries the same security and reliability you’ve always trusted.
- Tap to Pay Functionality: Look for the contactless symbol on the payment terminal. Save time every time you tap!
- Apple Pay and Samsung Pay Now Available: Enjoy fast and secure payments by adding your new debit card to Apple Pay or Samsung Pay. Use your digital wallet for quick, contactless purchases in-store, online, or within apps.
What You Need to Know
- Your old card will no longer work after January 21, 2025.
- To ensure seamless access to your accounts, a new debit card was mailed on January 2, 2025. If you have an existing ATM card, you will be upgraded to our new debit card experience. (Please anticipate 7-10 business days for delivery.)
- Activate your new card as soon as you receive it from a phone number you have on file with the credit union. Activation will only work if your phone number is current. Upon activation, take a moment to update any automated payments, card on file merchants, mobile wallet services, and other linked payment credentials to your new debit card.
- Destroy your old debit or ATM card upon activation of your new debit card.
- All cardholders, regardless of whether they are primary, secondary, or ATM cardholders will receive a new physical card with a unique debit card number, expiration date, and CVV/CVC (Card Verification Code – three-digit number on the back of the card).
About the Upgrade
This system upgrade will take place between Friday, January 17 at 5 PM - Tuesday, January 21 at 9 AM. This improvement will provide you with better security features and an overall improved banking experience. As we approach this milestone, we want to ensure you’re aware of temporary changes that will affect your card usage starting Friday, January 17.
Temporary Transaction Limits
Starting January 17, your debit card will have the following daily limits:
- ATM Withdrawals: $500
- Point of Sale Transactions: $500
These limits will reset each day to ensure you can continue making necessary purchases while we complete our system upgrade.
Important Transaction Processing Update
There will be a delay in transaction posting during our system upgrade. Any purchases made between Friday, January 17 at 5:00 PM through Tuesday, January 21 at 9:00 AM will not post to your account immediately. All transactions made during this period will post after 9:00 AM on Tuesday, January 21.
Planning Ahead
To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend:
- Making any essential purchases before 5:00 PM on January 17
- Having an alternative payment method available
- Keeping track of your transactions during this period
Haven’t Activated Your New Card Yet?
If you haven’t activated your new debit card, we strongly encourage you to do as soon as you can. Simply follow the activation instructions provided with your card to ensure uninterrupted access to your funds.
